@eb i can't think of a definition of "sandwich" which includes subs while excluding hotdogs
@a yeah, unfortunately I think “everything that involves stuff between two pieces of bread” is the most compelling explanation
@a @eb actually yes we need a phylogeny of the entire sandwich group. Do you think toast (no butter) is an offshoot prior to sandwiches?
