saw some reports throughout the day that the aurora might be visible from my area, but it wasn’t definitive and also it looked for a while like it would be too cloudy, so just for fun i went pretty far out and then hiked up a mountain, not really expecting much, but was completely blown away by how much i could see (more images with even more visibility in replies)
@916253 so cool!! was the pink visible to the naked eye? in ottawa, it looked purely green, but some magenta showed up in long exposures, which was confusing lol
@a the pinkish red was about all that was visible to the naked eye, there was a very small amount of green you could see for a bit if you really looked for it. here's a picture i took without high shutter speed, this fairly closely reflects how much of it was directly visible
