for the macos 26 beta enjoyers, this seems to enable a water animation on the default wallpaper (at a couple fps, lol, maybe hidden for a reason)

sudo mkdir -p /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/NeptuneWallpaper.plist onemove -dict Enabled -bool true

@a pretty sure that particular animated wallpaper was shown on one of the Macs during the early minutes of the WWDC 2025 show as well?

@a It doesn't seem to work for me; after rebooting the VM, the desktop changes to a different scene (that's suspiciously pixellated, like something rendered in real-time) but it's still static. I'm curious, do you happen to have a recording of the animation?

@a Ahh, got it! It's only supposed to animate on the lock screen, and settles when unlocking, like some wallpapers already did in Sequoia.
