one of the silliest macos behaviors is whenever i edit the contact for someone i talk with a lot on imessage, it freezes the app with 100% cpu for like minutes?

like is it updating every message with their new details or something?? is there not just a global contact field for the whole chat???

took apart my friend's compaq armada 1700 (1998 laptop) yesterday, super impressed bc all screws are t8 torx of the same length, fully interchangeable.

@verge it's never been clear to me why a hardware company is "behind" if they don't have an in-house AI model. however good LLMs get, you'll need a phone or laptop to use them.. building those devices seems like a pretty safe and profitable position
