aww. wasn't entirely sold on 40 itself, but looks like 42 will pass, which afaik bans _any_ wealth tax in the state constitution. the whole thing badly backfired then...

great results in general though, congrats americans!

however you feel about the notorious prop 40, pls also remember to vote _against_ prop 42 if you'd support _any_ future wealth tax. it's even logically consistent to vote no on both!

and check the boring local school board races for single-issue weirdos running on transphobia or theocratic nonsense, there's like always one these days..

(not generally a major politics understander but i grew up in the bay area and still vote by mail!)

saw an apple ad with a shrimp wearing a cowboy hat and was 🟢 💭 (yk, i never thought about it before but using my iphone _does_ kinda make me feel like a cowboy shrimp sometimes...)

anyways it was just about AI generated emojis or some shit

gave this thing to my aunt a couple months ago. she just sent me an update, seems like i can declare success with the "keiki paste" by now!

and she named it after me lol.

it's working again??? omg. so many bots though lol

apparently screen sharing my two laptops from each other created a sort of retain cycle where neither slept when i closed them and they got super hot, oops

another day looking at pics of OLED screens on my LCD and 🟢 💭 (looks about the same as an LCD, umm wait..)

i have a bit of a thing for agar.io and played it every few months for well over a decade 😅 but for the last year or so it has been largely broken and i am genuinely upset and losing hope that it'll be fixed..

(it'll usually load, sometimes connects me to a game, but invariably disconnects within a couple minutes 😢)

tried one of the original powerbooks and the ball input is actually really really good, wow!!

i would say it's no worse than a touchpad (and beats the thinkpad thing no question).

it's really smooth and pleasant to use!

@samhenrigold i really, really want one, but it would just cut into my time using the 11" macbook air, and i can't have that

my old 2010 macbook suddenly seemed oddly hot and oddly quiet, yet i somehow didn't make the connection for a couple hours: fan was kill.

sometimes i fear i really am just not very intelligent..

came across a (very silly) privilege escalation bug on my laptop with last week's macos beta, updated to yesterday's beta to double-check if the bug still works and it doesn't, lol. apple is several steps ahead of me 😅

@platinumtulip i am happy with feditext and it runs very well on my 2016 iphone se too!

they're getting really big and strong!!

probably should've removed some to reduce the crowding but couldn't bring myself to do it..
