..is it possible to stop the stock apps auto-updating the moment i connect to wifi? only third party apps seem to consistently respect the setting in google play store?
i mean, beats ios where first party apps don't update independently from the os at all, but i was hoping to save the packages with "raccoon" and install with adb for some measure of reproducibility/so i have the option to revert to an older version.
am i insane? is there a better way to do this? lol
not 100% sure i'll switch to it (im really attached to my pink iphone se 2016, ok) but a *much* better candidate than the iphone se 2022
bought one from facebook marketplace and it seems really, really nice?? super light despite being way bigger than my iphone. i am impressed and confused by modern android (last used 7 on moto e4 lol)
in december i ordered a 2022 iphone se for $90 cad because i was curious about ios 26 and i figured (a) it's a good price (b) either my dad or sibling will surely want it since they're using the 2016 se and 8 respectively..
turns out i was wrong on both counts, nobody likes it and they're going for like $40 on the local kijiji. so i think ive basically paid $50 for the privilege of playing with "liquid glass" for like an hour, lmao
anyone have opinions on whether a google pixel 3a would likely be suitable for an iphone 6 enjoyer? on paper it looks almost the same size and shape, but i've never seen one irl. (or any other android phone recommendations for such a person? specifically: similar size, touch id, single back camera, non-glass back, possible to replace the screen and battery at minimum..)
this no-name aliexpress keyboard cover was always a little yucky and has already disintegrated to the point of unusability after a year. replaced with a navy-blue one from "mosiso" which has good reviews and feels considerably nicer. fingers crossed 😅
Have *you* gone to buy a Pokémon game in the past 5 years and noticed that they cost hundreds of dollars?
There's two simple explanations for that. Unfortunately, they're "scams" and "fascism".

i have 10 sata hdds, and for years they would occasionally disconnect or get stuck repeatedly trying to spin up, often hanging or panicking my pc (thank you macos).
anyways, they were all powered on molex-to-3x-sata dongles, and in november on a whim i cut off the molex plugs and soldered the sata plugs directly to the psu cables.
it's been stable for a few months now, so im tentatively concluding those 4-pin connectors are not reliable..? is it just my cables or a known thing with molex?
unsolved secondary problem called "i have like 6 of these now and nobody wants to buy them For some reason"
